Exploring Aerospace

(Grades 2-4)

Kids constructing lunar lander in aerospace engineering camp

Aerospace Engineers are responsible for designing everything from airplanes and helicopters to spacecraft and missiles. They often specialize in areas like structural design, aerodynamics, guidance, and propulsion. If you like projects that fly, Exploring Aerospace Engineering is for you!

Use your knowledge of lift and drag to build the slowest descending parachute. Design a wind-powered car out of just a few simple materials. Learn the techniques for creating the perfect paper airplane invent your own unique style of glider. Experiment with fins and rocket forces by building a miniature straw rocket and then construct and launch full-sized water bottle rocket more than 50 feet in the air!
